Set Your Missions

Let's check out the missions screen next! Go to Empire Management -> Missions. Here you will manage which troopers you want to send out on missions to start your empire earning. When you assign a trooper to a mission, they will continue to run that mission permanently until you call them back. Go ahead and assign all of your troopers to a mission. Let's start with hacking missions.

Step 1: Click the "Hacking" square in the top right

Step 2: Choose a Ship and a Trooper

To make it easier to assign missions in bulk, the game will attempt to automatically choose the best ship + trooper for the next mission. If you run out of ships, click the Underworld Trade Center -> Terminal button to rent a ship. More information about ship rental can be found here: Ships

Step 3: Click 'Confirm Deployment'

Cycle through all of your available Troopers and send them on hacking missions for now. If your Corruption gets too high, send some on a Supervising mission instead. Try to keep your corruption at 0.

For a full breakdown of missions and what they do, check out Missions

Bottom Bar

Now is a good time to talk about that bar along the bottom. This interface is jam packed with information, and each section is clickable! First off, along the very bottom you can see a visual depiction of your empire's Reputation and how much more you need to get to the next level.

Premium Currency

This area shows you your current balance of the premium currency. If you want to purchase or withdraw click on this area to open up the currency page.

Credits

This is your current balance of Credits. The number in green is how fast you are earning more credits. This can also be a negative number if your Corruption gets too high!

Ocurium

This is your balance of Ocuriums and your earn rate. Clicking here will bring you to the Exchange where you can buy and sell the ore.

Virtual Balances

The next four boxes show your current balances of various virtuals: Artifacts, Lifeforces, Shards, and Black Diamonds. Click on any of these resources to be brought to the page where you can use them.

Corruption

Your Corruption is shown next, this is a very important number. Make sure you always keep this less than or equal to 0.

Mission Status

The next section shows you how many troopers you have on active missions. If one of them has been cancelled for some reason it will also show up. Click this to open the mission status page showing all of your current assignments.

Qwitt Status

This section shows you how many Qwitts you have assigned to missions. Make sure to keep all of your Qwitts on a mission!

Mail

The last section here shows you how many unread mail messages you have. You can see what your companions + troopers have found, any issues with troop assignments, and more!

Traits

Alright! Now you have your missions setup, you have a good understanding of the UI, let's set some Empire Traits!

Empire traits can be a great boon to your empire, giving you increased production free credits, less corruption, even a bonus in encounters! Beware though, if you run out of credits you could be "stuck" with a bad set of traits that can really slow you down. For beginners a good set of traits are something that gives you free credits, and something that helps with corruption. Good luck!

Leaderboards

Now that you have your empire humming along, let's go look what we are battling for! Click on "Community -> Leaderboards" in the top menus. There are many Leaderboard's, but I want to call out two in particular for now.

Seasonal

The seasonal leaderboard is where you can win troopers at the end of the season! To rank higher on this leaderboard you need to gain Reputation. This is mostly gained through doing Normal Encounters, but check out the Reputation link for more ways. Make sure you get at least level 10 empire by the end of the season to win your rewards!

Weekly

The weekly leaderboard resets each week and features exciting encounters where everyone gets the same trooper/gear setup to compete. It is a great way to learn new gear combinations, but these are not easy! It is recommended that you hone your skills in normal encounters before trying the weekly.

Next Steps

Now that you have a basic understanding of the "management" portion of the game, the next step is some real time action! Next up check out our Encounter Guide and the Robotic Guide
